I recognized this name because a couple of my ancestors, Phillip and Andrew HICE, served in Capt. William Kendall's Mounted Company in the War of 1812 (from Roster of Ohio Soldiers in War of 1812, published by the Adjutant General of Ohio 1916). Capt. Kendall
