Murray, or Murry, S. Davis was born Oct. 1839 in Aarion, OH, son of Rev. Asher A. Davis and Jane M. (Cushing) Davis. I have not located an "Aarion" but I did find "Arion" listed in Scioto County. I would like to confirm Murray's birth date and location if possible. Rev. Davis was an itinerant minister, most often of the Universalist faith (now Unitarian). Rev. Davis's first wife (Sarah Ann Mizner/McVewell) died in July 1838 after bearing him 3 daughters (Sarah, Ellen L. and Huldah), the youngest of whom was born in early 1838, and he remarried to Jane in Dec. 1838. Murray was the first child of Asher's second marriage. I would like to learn if there are records that might confirm Murray's birth, any church his father might have served in 1838 or 1839, or the families residence in this county.
