Looking for any information on Samuel JACKSON, b. abt 1823, Hales Creek, Scioto Co., OH. He may be the son of William JACKSON and Rachel TOMLINSON. I'm trying to determine if he is the same Samuel JACKSON who married Sarah STULTZ/STUTS on Apr 29, 1843 in Pike Co., OH and who appears there on the 1850 census in Benton Township with children, Andrew JACKSON, b. 1846 and Louisa JACKSON, b. 1848. This is from Nelson Evans, Published 1903, History of Scioto County: Pioneer Sketches Page 743 William Jackson, son of Samuel and Mary (Scarlett) Jackson was born May 30, 1790 at Reading, Pennsylvania. His father died when he was very young. He learned the hatter's trade with his brother, John. He traveled through Virginia while working at his trade. He then went into business as a hatter at Berwick, Pennsylvania. There he was married to Rachel Tomlinson, January 15, 1808........................He had the following children: Mary, who married William Fout; Joseph; Sarah Ann, died at the age of fifteen years; Isaac, deceased, age 25; William, who resides on the old home place; Rachel, married to Sebastian Eifort and resides in Greenup, Kentucky; Samuel; James T. died in infancy; John T. lives in Waukee, Iowa; Hannah, died in infancy. John, William and Rachel are the only surviving children.
