Hello Jackie, In "Selected Abstracts From Common Pleas and Chancery Complete Records Scioto County Ohio 1810-1875" by Caryn Shoemaker Chancery Record D, (1845-1847) page 191 in abstract book. P.56 Moses GREGORY vs. Wilson GATES and Elizabeth GATES of Memphis, Tennessee. Court 26 June 1845, filed 10 April 1844. Wilson and Elizabeth GATES owned a two-story brick tenement on South side of Main St., inlot 66, Portsmouth. Being indebted to Jacob M. LEWIS for $800, Gates mortgaged on 31 Dec. 1836 the Lot. In summer 1838, Jacob M. LEWIS died, leaving a will. John F. LEWIS, George A. LEWIS, Thomas R. LEWIS, Ann Marie LEWIS, and 6 or 7 children of James O.
