    2. Transcribed without making changes to spelling and grammar. Transcribed by Joyce Robinson The Portsmouth Times Dated: September 11, 1880 Last Sunday DICE MATHEWS drew a revolver and attempted to send HATTIE COLE into eternity, but the ball missed its aim and Hattie still breathes. A warrant was issued for the arrest of the female shootist (sic), and the twain, after appearing at the Mayor's office, embraced each other and buried the hatchet. They are venal beauties and reside on Twelfth street.
