Transcribed by Joyce Robinson The Portsmouth Times Dated: October 2, 1880 Mr. LOUIS STAHL and Miss KATIE GARTNER were united in marriage, Wednesday morning, and left on the Andes for a bridal tour. LEO. GRIEBEL and BARBARA MELCHER, both of this city, were married at eight o'clock Thursday morning, at St. Mary's Church, by Rev. Father NOONAN. LEONARD ROWLEY and SARAH A. HOPKINS, of Sciotoville, were pronounced one and inseparable by Judge TOWNE, Thursday morning. It's the Judge's ministerial bearing that brings him so many marriages. FRED. GEIVER and IDA BELLE JENKINS, of Porter township, appeared before Judge TOWNE, Tuesday, and after producing the necessary credentials, said they were tired of living single lives, and wanted to pool their issues. The Judge put on a ministerial look and joined them in wedlock, VOLNEY ROW and TURNKEY YEMANS acting as attendants.
