PORTSMOUTH DAILY TIMES, THURS., 8 NOV 2007: Donald Eugene Rockwell, 74, of Portsmouth, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007, at Wesley Village at Hill View Retirement Center. A native of Lucasville, he was born May 17, 1933, to the late Lloyd M. Rockwell and Mary Belle Roberts Rockwell. He was a member of Valley United Methodist Church, Christ's Community Church, and the Golden Bears. Don was a Navy veteran of the Korean War, and retired from National Cash Register after 31 and a half years. He was a craftsman and an artist. Don was a wonderful husband and father. He is survived by his wife, Frankie Whitener Rockwell, whom he married May 8, 1955; two sons, Tony L. (Becky) Rockwell of Columbus, and Dale E. (Wilma) Rockwell of Georgia; grandchildren, Beth and Brandon Rockwell of Georgia; step-grandchildren, Jacob and Kyle Mobley of Columbus; one sister, Helen O, Brian of Columbus; and one brother, Jerald Rockwell of Huntington, W.Va. He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Thompson. Memorial services will take place at l p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, 2007, at Hill View Retirement Center, with Dr. Dean Crabtree, the Rev. Richard North, and Dr. Boyce Whitener officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of F.C. Daehler Mortuary in Portsmouth.
