Friday. Mr. Reynolds had been in failing health the last two years and complications caused death. He was born June 12, 1861, in Jackson county and was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Joel Reynolds. His wife preceded him in death. He is survived by four children. Mrs. Monie Adkins of Sciotoville, Albert and Earl Reynolds of Sciotodale, Herbert Reynolds of Pond Run, two brothers, Joseph Reynolds of New Boston, Frank Reynolds of Illinois, and a sister, Mrs. Caroline Stiffler of Jackson County. The body is at the Joseph Reynolds residence, 4050 Rhodes avenue, New Boston, where it may be viewed by friends. Funeral services will be held at Cedar Street Christian church at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, with the Rev. Thomas Kerr officiating. Interment under the direction of A. C. The wife, Mrs. Kathryn Dever Beard Violet, 74 died at 11:55 p.m. Tuesday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. J. W. Journey, 646 Sixth St., and Mr. Violet, 81, died at 12:45 a.m. today at the Lucasville residence. Mrs. Violet had been in ill health for the last two years and when Mr. Violet became ill several months ago, Mrs. Violet was moved to the daughter's home here. Mr. Violet, a retired farmer, was born Sept. 13, 1871, at Minford, a son of the late John M. and Caroline Dewey Violet and his wife, a lifelong resident of Lucasville area, was born Aug. 1, 1876, a daughter of the late Joseph and Rebecca Wheeler Dever. Mr. Violet came to Lucasville in 1897. The couple was married July 26, 1921. They were both members of Lucasville Methodist Church and Lucasville Chapter, Order of Eastern Star. Mr. Violet was a member of the Lucasville Masons. Mr. Violet was one of the original members of the Scioto County board of education and served for several terms. For about 20 years he was a member of Valley Township school board. Mrs. Violet was married to the late Dr. M. J. Beard of Lucasville, who died in 1915. To this union, a daughter, Mrs. Journey, at whose home Mrs. Violet died, was born. Mr. Violet was married March 14, 1895 to Dora L. Coburn, who died in 1919. Fours ons were born to this marriage. They are Charles and Arlyn, both of Lucasville, Raymond of Toledo and Forrest of Columbus. In addition to their children, Mrs. Violet is survived by a grandson and a granddaughter. Joint funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Lucasville Methodist Church with Rev. Gordon Groby officiating. Bueial for Mrs. Violet will be in Lucasville Cemetery and for Mr. Violet interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at McKinley Funeral Home, where Eastern Star and Masonic services will be held for the couple at 8 p.m. Thursday.
