    2. the farm
    3. I am still trying to find anything I can on George Phinneas Phillips b. 1873 in Portsmouth to John and Maria Phillips. He married Mary A. Bryant in 1892. At sometime after 1920, he moved to Cincinnati where he continued his trade as a shoeworker there. I loose them after 1936 in Cincy and wonder if they didn't move back to Portsmouth since he would have been over 50 by that time and either died or retired. Can anyone look in the 1900, 1910 or 1920 census to see if they are there and if they had any children? Or check the City Directories? Thanks, Any help would be greatly appreciated. Pam

    3. To all that sent encouraging responses, I wanted to thank you, I have tried to reply to everyone, but it is now becoming to over whelming to answer everybody back. I can understand how these list administrators that have several counties to do, feel. I have several leads and on my other lines and many many awesome folks who have offered to help. I have been researching for just a little under a year now, and have found many people and information. I have made many contacts and feel that I can help others with what I have. I have researched all that I can on my Heckman family until I receive proof from St. Augustine's church in Minster, Ohio as to who my Clemens's parents are, I am stuck. Right now he is an only child, and that is hard to believe. Through marriage, baptismal, probate and land contracts, and cemetery records WE KNOW HE EXISTS!! Ha ha To all of those people that receive a couple of hundred emails a week, I understand, I am in the same boat. It was a one time shot and proved in my mind successful. 3. My apologies to all of those that had repeats of this same message. Because my folks are spread out all over the country, I felt it was necessary to connect with all of the counties of Ohio. I did not understand that I would get such unfriendly mail from some people. Some of them were helpful. After reviewing the Acceptable policy use at rootsweb, I did not see anything about mass mailings. If one exists would you please direct me to that? Because of my limited access to information, the Internet is all I have. I am not able to get to many locations people have suggested. He would have came to Scioto County after 1870. I have little information on him except family members stating that he went to Scioto County after the death of his father in Ohio County, Indiana. I would appreciate any help anyone could give me on this search. Thanks in advance Cindy

    3. Pam, Try the Ohio Historical society website. www.ohiohistory.com. Look under the resources link and then death certificates. They are indexed by date ranges. This will allow you to see if on exists on file and then you can order it from this website. They are much cheaper this way (I believe you can get 4 for 1.00 or something ridiculously cheap like that). 3. Pam, I am having some trouble with my email. I cannot tell if this went through earlier. So here it is again, just in case. I currently live on Sunrise Avenue, Portsmouth, Ohio. I did not live on Sunrise during the 1960's or 1970's, but my wife's family did. I am checking with them to see if they knew Frank or Lula. I do not know if this is the individuals you are searching for, but here is some information. Ohio Death Records shows the following.
