    3. Hi, Well I have been just so swamped with STOCKHAM finds of late that I am really amazed. But I have one bit of info I have a hunch could be wrong. A number of sites refer to a Hannah BENNIGHT marrying a STOCKHAM in 1823. Now that name seems so unlikely to me! I will probably be proven wrong, but I am suspicious it was merely a poor entry for BENNETT (two or three of whom married STOCKHAMs). Does anyone have any info that can prove me wrong? Especially parents to Hannah would be great. This is the start of one line of STOCKHAMs, and thus is of great interest to me. Thanks, Vince Summers

    3. Hi, I sent emails to both Stockham-L and to OHSCIOTO-L, but the size of the emails may have caused them to be locked out. The default value for email size on Rootsweb is fairly small... Anyway, I have tied in my Pennsylvania George STOCKHAM m. Elizabeth BISS with the Ohioan William STOCKHAM m. Susannah PAINE. This means their joint parents were Thomas STOCKHAM m. Margaret POWERS. I have tons of stuff to share, and am hoping you have the same... Scans, Census Images, Photos, Docs, greedily accepted and devoured! Vince Summers P.S. This may actually tie in pretty much *every* STOCKHAM within the U.S.

    3. I don't know if these are your people, but listed in Scioto County Ohio Newspaper Index: Deaths and Marriages 1818 to 1865 by Barbara Keyser Gargialo is the following: J. O. Wilson death notice published 23 July 1851 in the Portsmouth Tribune & Clipper. Sarah Wilson death date Feb 28, 1854 at age 18. Death notice published 7 March 1854 in the Portsmouth Daily Dispatch. Nothing for an Edwin Wilson. You can contact the Portsmouth Public Library at (740) 354-5688 to ask for copies. The librarians do research but charge a fee. It might not be much, but I don't know. You could ask them when you call. 1. Ancestry's new search engine
    2. jopageri
    3. Ancestry is not charging for access to trees or selling info. from trees. These will continue to be free for people to browse or search manually. What Ancestry will be charging extra for is access to a new search engine that will search trees for you. Whether the search engine is worth the extra charge or whether it should be included in a regular subscription is debatable. Jo

    3. I received a message that quite disturbed me, and I finally went and checked it out. If you have a family tree on Ancestry's One World Tree project, they are going to begin charging $49.95/yr to view this information. I don't know about you, but I'm not happy with someone selling my work to someone else. Here's the link about the new "service" http://trees.ancestry.com/owt/about.aspx Here's also a link to the agreement for the World tree http://www.ancestry.com/trees/awt/subagreement.htm Make sure you check out the section that applies to both the World tree and one world tree. I have since removed any information I have ever submitted to Ancestry. I'm going to do more research to see if they plan to use information posted to Rootsweb... if so, I may pull my information from there as well. Laura
