    3. This section is in the northeast part of the cemetery between the St. Mary's Section & Section 7. It is between Section 8 on the west and Section 19 on the east. The dividing line between St. Mary's and Section 18 is blurred, but a dividing line starts at the small grave of Hope Virginia Sparks on the east side by the road and going east to Section 8. Stones to the north of that line are on the St. Mary's side. This section was recorded by Allison Kalb in 2002 beginning at the east end moving north to south. Located in Row 1 BENNET, Janet Noble 1848 - 1923 BENNET, David 1846 - 1933 Section 4 is like a nickel at the most southern part of Section 9. As Section 4 is a circle type section, it was decided to start in the middle and work outward. This was done working counter clockwise and calling each rotation a numbered circle. Be aware that these circles are not true in the accurate definition of the word circle. There was a small roadway at the north end of Section 4, which has been converted to a new burial area and called Section 4A. Inscriptions for Section 4A are listed at the end of Section 4. Read by Jack Sheets, 2002 HUGHES, Margaret Bennett 1876 - 1908 I'm sorry, but I didn't find anything for Leonard under either Bennett or Warren. Sincerely, Joyce M. 3. Yes, there is a cemetery office. The phone number is 740-353-4969. The Caretakers name is Mr. Neal. The cemetery is located on Offnere Street, Portsmouth, Ohio 45662. If your grandparents are not on the list at http://www.rootsweb.com/~ohscogs2/Greenlawn/index.htm is it possible that their date of death is after 1900? The list you are looking at contains only deaths until 1900. Those who died after this are included in another book. I would be more than happy to look to see if your grandparents are listed in the other book and let you know what information is recorded for them. Yes, Vic is correct. We walked the entire cemetery and recorded the inscriptions on the stones. Therefore, if there was no stone, there was no recording. Sincerely, Joyce M. 3. My impression was that Greenlawn Cemetery list is not something produced from an onsite cemetery directory. Rather I believe it was developed from the hard work of volunteers surveying the entire cemetery on foot, recording headstone information. Obviously in this case it would be possible to miss someone or make a mistake. So I think if you wanted to make a correction to the directory appearing on the Rootsweb site, you'd have to determine which section your ancestor is in and submit it to the compilers of that webpage. Is anyone aware of an official cemetery directory at Greenlawn? --Vic At 05:35 AM 2/14/2005, you wrote: >Does it have a office where burial records are kept? You could write( >or visit).
