Surnames: HASKINS, SMITH, PHILO Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/WZB.2ACI/720 Message Board Post: There is a Betsey HASKINS on the 1840 census of York Twp, Sandusky Co OH. She is listed as head of house. She is probably the female age 50-60 on the listing for this houshold. There are others in the household ranging in age from the under 10 to between 20-30. I also found a Carey HASKINS on the 1840 census for Ottawa Co, Portage Twp and a Samuel HASKINS in Ottawa Co, Rensaleer Twp near Kelley's Island. Not sure how close these all might be to one another. They are all gone by 1850 when the census actually lists the names. These are names that are found in the family of Nicholas HASKINS and Susannah SMITH. He and some of his family migrated thru OH into Cass and St. Joseph Co MI around this time. Is anyone else studying the Haskins in this area? Do you have any of these names?
