I am looking for all of the Menkhoff's in the Old Woodville Cemetery, in Fremont, Sandusky County, OH. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. There may be some that are misspelled as well, such as Menckhoff or Menckoff. I believe there are only four in that cemetery. Also, I would like to know if anyone knows where the records for this cemetery are kept. I need to find out who paid for a certain plot in the cemetery. Thank you in advance! As to your question about your grandfathers, the best answer I could give you at this time is to try to get to the Hayes Presidential Center Library in Fremont. They have a CW data base with all the information regarding any Ohio CW soldier. From there I would suggest getting forms from the National Archives in Washington, DC to obtain your great-grandfather's war pension papers and his war enlistment and muster papers. Where are you located in relation to Clyde and Fremont? I live in Port Clinton. As you are a direct descendant of a Union soldier, you are eligible for membership in the Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War. I am president of a local Tent. It is a national organization. I would very much like to keep in touch with you. My gr-gr-grandfather was a CW soldier who was in the Third Ohio Volunteer Cavalry. Thank you. Hope to hear from you again soon. Janett
