In the 1850 and 1860 census they lived in Green Creek Township but according to the History of Sandusky county (1897), he lived in Hillsdale, Michigan then and was aged 77. In the Sandusky County cemetery inscriptions, Lorinda is listed in Bakertown without Orson but near his parents, Silas and Sallie Grover. She is listed as only 28 so the Caroline you have may be his second wife. Someone contacted me privately and said they had Grover info to share but that she was going on vacation until October 10th. Maybe I'll know more then! Right now I have nothing in my main database or my 'miscellaneous' Grover database regarding any Cranes. Vicki

The children listed in the guardianship case are hers. Truman, Samuel and Orson Grover are her brothers. Her brother John was married to a Baker so I'm thinking the Samuel Baker is part of that clan. I don't know how the O. McIntyre fits in. There are two 'clans' of Grovers in Fremont, Ballville Township, and Green Creek township that appear to be related somehow to my family of Grovers in Wood County. They are the Silas Grover clan with all of these people in this guardianship case and more. And there is the Oliver Grover clan. In a lot of the different dealings I'm checking into, there are people of both clans along with mine interacting. I'm convinced that there is some connection. A lot of the same names of other families keep popping up like McIntyre, Baker, Cleveland, Gould, etc. I go to the Hayes Library almost every week if there is something that might be helpful that I can look up for any of you. Maybe there is some link between all of us! Vicki

OH. I have been following the thread concerning these families and might have a little information to add. I have a Mary Olive McIntire/McIntyre, that married a David Hawk on 1 Sept. 1853-54 in Sandusky CO. She was the daughter of Oliver and Maria McIntyre. She died 7-8 Dec. 1913, and her and David are buried in the Oakwood Cemetery in Fremont, OH. They had children; Frederick, b. 1854 Maria, Oliver E. Hawk that married a Clara Cleveland on 38 Nov. 1882. Ralph, b. ca. 1868 Laura, that married a James Cleveland. That might explain part of the guardianship records for the Cleveland children that Vicki posted. I have also been trying to find the connection between the Grover line and a Crane line I am working on in Sandusky CO. The following claims were listed giving clear title to the land once owned by Amos W. Crane. In the Quit Claims, Probate Records 1857-1876, Sandusky CO. OH, there is mention of some kind of connection to the Grover family. Vol. 26, p. 592, Orson and Caroline Grover of Reading, MI., Mar. 30, 1876. Vol. 5, p. 444, James M. Bowland to O. Grover, June 2, 1857. This could possibly mean just that the land of one Amos W. Crane had been passed down over the years to this Orson Grover through title. Hope this helps someone. Nancy
