Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/WZB.2ACI/657 Message Board Post: In the 1840s, a great historian named Henry Howe visited each county in Ohio meeting many people and taking extensive notes. He published his History of Ohio shortly afterwards. Then later, in the 1880s, he revisited each county and updated all of his previous notes and made many, many drawings. He then almost totally re-wrote the entire book and republished it in 1886 in a two-volume set containing nearly 1000 pages. He has general history chapters and then he has a separate chapter devoted to each of the 88 counties in Ohio. The Ottawa County Historical Museum has reprints of each of the county chapters as well as several other publications and used books. Please email the Museum or Curator for more information. Thank you and happy hunting to all! Vicki Ashton, Curator Ottawa County Historical Museum ochm126@hotmail.com heypa@cros.net

This could certainly be a link as Albert marries Albertene Gruber around 1860 in Sandusky, OH. Thank you for you response, if you have more info that could link please respond.

My husband's ancestor, Christopher Streeter who died in 1906 is buried there. He lived on S. Main St. in Clyde when he died and the funeral took place at the Presbyterian Church. I did not see this cemetery listed in the Sandusky Co. cemeteries and would like to know if it was renamed or what happened to it. Also, would anyone be willing to take a picture of the headstone, if there is one? Thanks! Joyce Wolf
