I don't know where my James Smith was born other than it was in New York. I'm thinking that your David, Daniel, David Jr. must be related somehow to James because they are all found living side by side in Madison twp, Sandusky Co., Ohio in 1840. Also there are some Storms surnames on that census, who were neighbors & relation... James Smith married Sabrina Storms. According to what I have uncovered for the Storms family, they came by lumberwagon from New York to Ohio. Richard Storms was Sabrina's brother. Richard's daughter Eliza states that she was born in Redfield twp, Oswego Co., New York in 1834. So I've been looking around that area of New York but havent' found anything as of yet for the Smith name. James & Sabrina were married in New York and had a daughter in New York abt. 1837. So the Smith's & Storms families probably migrated to Sandusky between 1838 & 1840. Where did your men end up? All mine went to Michigan. There is also a mystery Thomas Smith whose father was born in New York and mother born in Canada who I found living with James & Sabrina Smith in the 1884 Newaygo Co, Michigan census. I don't know who he is but figure he also must be relation. Can you give me a history of your Smith's in Sandusky? Maybe that will help. Thanks for responding! Lisa

They seemed to name all their male children after Bible names. Could David had been an uncle? Do you have where James was born? Let me know Diane

Please disregarding our former email. Sorry everyone. The person who sent the warning to us is quite a computer geek, so I trusted it. I typically delete the 'virus warnings' everyone sends me because they are never true. ~ Heather & George This is a hoax. I attached a link telling more information about it for anyone interested. http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/jdbgmgr.exe.file.hoax.html

Their daughter, Mildred C., was born in Sandusky, OH in 1875. Does an index for the 1880 census exist for this place? They moved around the horn to Michigan (Monroe County) before the 1900 census. Joseph and his wife were both born in Alsace-Lorain, France. I know little more about them. Any help would be appreciated.

Don't know what would have happened if we would have left them alone for 14 days...but why take the chance? Please check your hard drive to make sure you don't have this on there. You may have received it from us or someone else you get email from. It was really easy to get rid of. Thanks! Heather & George EVERYONE, I WAS JUST CONTACTED BY MY AUNT WITH THIS VIRUS INFORMATION . I DID FIND IT IN MY FILES AND YOU ARE ALL ON MY ADDRESS BOOK SO I NEEDED TO LET YOU KNOW . PLEASE READ AND CHECK IT OUT ON YOUR SYSTEM AND FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS PROVIDED . PLEASE DO ASAP. THANK YOU , ANNETTE Everyone, I was just informed that my address book has been infected with a virus. As a result, so has yours because your address is in my book. The virus is called jdbgmgr.exe. It cannot be detected by Norton or McAfee anti-virus programs. It sits quietly for about 14 days before damaging the system. It is sent automatically by messenger and address book, whether or not you send e-mail. The good news is that it is easy to get rid of! Just follow these simple steps and you should have no problem. > > > 1. Go to Start, then Find or Search > > > 2. In files/folders, write the name jdbgmgr.exe > > > 3. Be sure to search in your "C" drive for jdbgmgr.exe > > > 4. click Find or Search > > > 5. The virus has a teddy bear logo with the name jdbgmgr.exe DO NOT OPEN 6. RIGHT click and delete it 7. Go to the recycle bin and delete it there also. IF YOU FIND THE VIRUS, YOU MUST CONTACT EVERYONE IN YOUR ADDRESS BOOK Sorry for all the trouble, but this is something I had no control over, I received it by someone else's address book, just as you may have received it from me and also you may have uncontrollably sent it to those in your address book. Sorry about this everyone, it was very easy to find and delete. I'm really sorry.
This is a HOAX! It circulated last year. DO NOT DELETE THIS FILE! It is a java debugging manager or something and is a legit file for your computer. Do a search for computer virus hoaxes --here is an article about it.... http://hoaxbusters.ciac.org/cgi-bin/mfs/www/hoaxbusters/archive?ink=http://h oaxbusters.ciac.org/HBMalCode.shtml&file=/www/hoaxbusters/HBMalCode.shtml&li ne=1600#mfs The Jdbgmgr Hoax April 2002 The jdbgmgr hoax is almost the same as the sulfnbk hoax in that it tells you to delete a program that was installed with Windows. jdbmgr.exe is the Java Debugger Manager and does have an icon that looks like a Teddy Bear. It is not, normally, a virus. As with all executables, it is not impossible to have a copy of jdbmgr.exe that is infected by a virus but that virus will be detected by your antivirus software. Microsoft has posted the article Q322993 with information on how to replace jdbgmgr.exe if you have deleted it. Subject: IMPORTANT-VIRUS ALERT!!! Date: Thu, 18 Apr 2002 04:01:21 +0000 Hi everybody, I just wanted to let you know you should check your computers by following the procedure that's next....I don't remember getting an email with that file attachment, but I found it in my system. Since I found the dumb little bear in my computer, I'm sending you the info. The virus is called jdbgmgr.exe and it transfers automatically through Messenger and also through your address book and since I have all of you in my address book I have to send everyone this info. I'm sorry if this causes any problems. It certainly wasn't intentional. The virus isn't detected by McAfee or Norton and it remains in the folder for 14 days before activating and harming the system. It can be erased before it eliminates the files in your computer. To do so, follow these steps: 1.- Click on "Start" 2.- Go to find "files and folders" and write the name of jdbgmgr.exe 3.- Make sure it's looking in "C" drive. 4.- Click on "Find now" 5.- If the virus appears (the icon is a little bear that has the name of (jdbgmgr.exe) DO NOT OPEN IT FOR ANY REASON 6.- Right click on it and delete it (it will go to the recycle bin) 7.- Go to the recycle bin and either delete everything in the folder, or right click on the little bear and delete. If you find this virus in your computer, please send this message to all the people in your address book before it causes any damage.
