I'm posting this reply here instead of emailing you directly in case anyone else is looking for this family. I suspect that our Edmund A Rice, enumerated on the 1850 Census in Green Creek township, Sandusky County, Ohio as Edward A Rice, is the son of Edward W Rice. Edward W was listed on the 1830 and 1840 census for York township, Sandusky County, Ohio, with many children in the household. The 1850 census shows him with his family in Lyme township, Huron County, Ohio, which is the township EAST of York township. Edward W was born 1800, his wife Polly was born 1803 (and Polly was a common nickname for Mary.) A number of children in the household as well as other young married couples by the name of rice live with or very close to this family. I have not been successful this week in proving these relationships and will be heading to my local family history library to order microfilms to try to identify the relationships. I hope you had a good week off! Amy
