    2. Tim Christensen
    3. I'm trying to locate a transcript of Trinity (Roush) Cemetery, located in Scott Twp. I have one page of a typed transcription that a fellow researcher sent me, but I haven't been able to locate the entire transcription! I thought it was from "Sandusky Co., OH Cemeteries Vol. 1" by James & Janet Sims, but when I put in an interlibrary loan request, I was told it is not included in that book. Does anyone know where this transcription is? Thanks! Julie

Meyer, son of John C. Meyer was married to Mary Rosina Snyder, daughter of Francis Xavier Schneider and Anna Maria Rimmelspacher. We have gone to the Meyer-Schmitz Reunion at Vickery, in the past years. Do you, or any of your older relatives go? I have met John V. Gonya, who I believe is a near relative to you. Matt Park has his family tree up here, and I have given him our line. Elisabeth S. Schmitz was born Nov. 14 1823. If you are write about Mary Oberly, then her Father remarried after Elisabeth's Mother died in 1848. I didn't know about the civil war involvement. Would John C. have been involved, AFTER bearing all of those children? As to Charles Beier (b. 1854), he appears to be a second cousin, once removed, decended through the Schneider Family. I had him married to a Mary Chud, rather than Schmitz. Perhaps there are 2 Charles' or a second marriage? Write me if you like, I am somewhat concerned about sending to the "BobMar! ley" address. We have Marley's in town, and they are Irish.

    3. Hello. I just came back from Fremont, Ohio, my hometown, and saw this sign in Flag Park, across from the Sandusky County Courthouse. My Aunt Judy Sevitts, my sister, Joyce Burns, and I went to investigate this so-called monument and she took a picture of both the larger sign and the smaller one. There is no monument, just a large sign and smaller sign. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/WZB.2ACI/707.3 Message Board Post: Here is something else I have found: HENRY HOSTLER, farmer, P. O. Tiffin, was born July 9, 1816 in Lancaster County, Penn., son of Henry and Catharine (Dinger) Hostler who were also natives of Pennsylvania. Henry Hostler, Sr., came with his family to Ohio in 1831, and entered a farm in Hopewell Township, this county (Seneca), when there were but a few inhabitants in the township or county. They came here with one horse, and a wagon in which they slept at night most of the way, and had but little save health and willing hands. They made a clearing, built a cabin and began to work in earnest on the site where the beautiful dwelling of our subject now stands. On their way to this township, they stopped at the then village of Sandusky, except the father – Henry Hostler Sr., who came ahead, entered his land, and then returned for his family. Henry Sr. eventually passed away. His children all attained maturity and now the living occupy good positions in life, while their parents sleep, free from care and toil. Of their children, (four sons and two daughters) the following survive: Henry; Sarah, widow of J. Martin; Catharine (wife of Rev. J. Powell, of Sandusky County) and Henry. Our subject, the only one who resides in this county, was educated here. He married. January 20, 1840, Miss Fannie Baughman, the eldest in the family of twelve children of John Baughman, of Liberty Township, this county, and who still occupies the old home farm, the property never having changed hands. Mr. and Mrs. Hostler have been blessed with nine children: George W., married to Mary Propps; Rebecca E. wife of Issac Merchant; Moses L., married to Margaret Shaull; Silas J.; Dennis S. and David M. (twins); Stephen; A. D.; and Ira J., married to Harriet Bencoff. Mr. Hostler is one of the leading farmers of his township, and among its very successful men. He is a member of the United Brethren Church.

Just came back from OH. Did some research at R.B. Hayes Library, found a little. Also have alot of info all the way back to the Whites on Mayflower as that is where my line goes. What kind of info do you have on the Haffs or Pearsons? Most people are doing Pearl Haff's side that I have seen on the net. I have alot of old pictures also if interested. Please let me know.

Son of David Smith Jr of Sandusky County, OH; who was son of David Smith of Berks, PA. Moved to NE about 1874. He is in every census from 1840 to 1885. I can find no marriage or death records for him. Also, I have nothing on his wife but her name: Sarah Miller. Any info on her parents names?

    1. [OHSandusky] NILES Family Photograph
    2. Shelley Cardiel
    3. I've "rescued" an old photograph of Ida V. NILES of Clyde, Ohio. The photograph was taken at the Bellsmith & Power Studio in Buffalo, New York in the 1890's. In addition to her name someone has written "B.S.N.S, Class 1895" leading me to believe this is a graduation photo. Ida appears to be in her late teens or early 20's at the time. I'm hoping to locate someone from this family so that this beautiful old photograph can be returned to its rightful place with family. If you are a member of this family or know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley

This was the home of my gg grandfather. From what I understand, it was a very beautiful home, right down the street from Hayes Park. I was hoping to make a trip for some pictures, but only if there is still a house standing Thanks, Jennifer
