    3. Hello, Is Tew cemetery recorded? My gggrandmother Thankful Haff/Hoff Nelson born October 12, 1810, married Benjamin B. Nelson of Clyde, October 12, 1830 died May 07, 1841, and is buried in Tew Cemetery. She died of Childbirth. She left sons Byron Nelson, born November 04, 1829, Lyman Bennett, born August 06, 1833, and daughter Hannah Almina, born June 22, 1835 and infant Frances Louis Israel, born April 25, 1841. The nurse, a Danish woman named Gildrea/Geldrey took the baby. I think Hiram Haff took in the older children. Benjamin left for Indiana and married a woman named Rachel Bear. They had Eliza Marill Nelson 1848 and Ellen in 1849. Does anyone know? Byron was the father of my grandfather Henry Byron Nelson who was also born in Clyde. Hanna Almina married David Sweet, they moved to Michigan, and had Monroe, Fred, Almina, May, Helen, Eunice, Louis and Annette. 3. - ---------------------------------------------------------------- FORWARDED MESSAGE - Orig: 9-Aug-99 17:04 Subject: Submission for consideration to Ohio's GenWeb Page - ---------------------------------------------------------------- From: Greg Reeves <[email protected]> Hi Maggie: You folks have a nice website over "there" at the Ohio GenWeb project. Congratulations on a job well-done! I recently have uploaded a completely free database onto the 'Net that I'd like for you'all to consider adding a "hotlink" on your site to. It's entiled "Ohio Soldiers Aboard the 1865 Sultana" and it contains the name, rank, company & regiment of 652 paroled (Union) U.S. Civil War soldiers from Ohio who were aboard the steamship Sultana when her boilers exploded early on the morning of April 27, 1865 just nine miles north of Memphis, TN on the Mississippi River. Maggie, at least 210 of those brave 'Buckeyes' died in what remains even today as America's worst-ever maritime tragedy, a disaster that likely took the lives of over 1,500 souls-----even more than were lost on the Titanic just 47 years later! Because *so many* were lost, I believe that the site will be of immense value to any serious genealogist searching for "lost" ancestors from Ohio. A simple link would be great but a more prominent (temporary) "showcasing" of the database on your site would be wonderful and *very* much appreciated. You can review it for consideration at URL: http://www.rapidnet.com/~greg/Sultana/OH/OHSult.html Thanks Greg Reeves ANDERSONVILLE-L and SULTANA-L Listowner, SultanaRing Ringmaster see: http://www.rapidnet.com/~greg/Tom [email protected] !^NavFont02F057D0007NGHHL7FEDEE
