Thanks to all who replied regarding my inquiry of Foughts Cemetery. I appreciate the help. Sally Havens
The US Geographical Survey doesn't list a Foughts cemetery. It does list a Fouts Cemetery in Jefferson Co., IL; in Peoria Co., KS and also in Salida Co., SC. [email protected]
Hi. I think your 'Foughts' just might be related way, way back to the 'Fouts' families I have seen in NC. Those folks, earlier, were Palatine German/Swiss by the name of Pfautz. If you get your Foughts back into PA or the Delaware ports areas, you might be finding Pfautz ancestors. Good hunting. Linda [email protected] wrote: >Yes, I am pretty sure. Yes, I am pretty sure. They owned a resort is lower Michigan called Foughts resort. But I have seen some pretty strange names spelled how people sometimes "hear" them. Sally Havens
Chuck, Yes, I would like what ever information you have regarding Foughts. They are not a direct descendant, but I am hoping to find out more through them. I have a Bertram Fought who married a Nora Grotie? and they had one child that I know of. His name was Dewitt born in the early 1900's/ Possibly around 1906? They owned and operated a resort on Houghton Lake in lower Michigan around the 19402-1950s. That is all that I have on the Foughts except that they are somehow related to my family through the name Farmer or Kaschner? Can you tell me what you have and send your e-mail? I will send whatever I get. Thanks Sally [email protected]
Can anyone tell me if there is a Cemetery in Sandusky called Foughts Cemetery? I am hoping to find out the history of Foughts and if any of my relatives are buried there. Thanks, Sally [email protected]

Hello listers, I am new to the list. I am attempting to locate the burial place of my ggggrandfather, FOUNTAIN YOUNG. He was a soldier in the War of 1812 in Col. Poage's KY Mounted Cav. The info I have is that he participated in the Battle of Thames and was wounded in that battle. He was mustered out of the service in Upper Sandusky and he is believed to be buried in that area. I have no other information on him. Can anyone offer any information on FOUNTAIN YOUNG or where he could possibly be buried in that area? Does anyone have information about the Battle of Thames? Hi Everyone, Well I sent you all the incorrect URL to the SSDI. <blush>That's what happens when you bookmark the test site. The URL is http://ssdi.rootsweb.com/ and it is the most updated version on the web. It is updated monthly and you can leave little notes attached to your family's notices so others can find you. Please check it out and I'm sorry for the misdirection. Maggie
