    1. [OHSandusky] Martin Schrenk/Shrenk/Schrenck in
    2. Bonnie
    3. Does anyone have a copy of A History of Northwest Ohio, Sandusky, Ohio 1917 that lists a Schrenk in it. I was wondering if it was John or Martin Schrenk/Shrenk/Schrenck and what it says about him. I think it probably just says that Martin was in the Civil War or that John published the Lower Sandusky Telegraph, a Whig Political newspaper but I was just wondering. Still looking for death record of Martin who was in the Civil War, Co.F, 8th Regiment, Ohio. When he returned home from the Civil War, he married Cecelia Sidney McCormick born 22 MAR 1830. They owned a boarding house in the 1st ward, Fremont, Ohio in 1870. Martin was the Asst. Marshall (1870 Census taker) for Sandusky Co. in 1870. In the 1880 census, Martin and Celia are found in Cleveland, Cuyahoga Co., OH. On 9 FEB 1882, Celia married Heman B. Smith who was a harness manufacturer and City clerk and then the Mayor of Fremont, Ohio in 1888. Heman was age 39, harness maker boarding with John Newman family in Fremont, 4th Ward, in 1880. Heman died 23 OCT 1911 in Fremont, Ohio. Cecelia died 24 OCT 1911. I have the obit for Celia and Heman but no mention of Martin. Both buried in Fremont, Ohio. When and where did Martin SHRENK die? (sometime between 1880 and 1882) Thank You Bonnie __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? HotJobs - Search Thousands of New Jobs http://www.hotjobs.com

    3. Hi, The link below gives you information about the Hayes Presidential Center and Library. The Library is always free. http://www.rbhayes.org/receptn.htm Check the Sandusky Co. GenWeb site for township lines. http://www.rootsweb.com/~ohsandus/san1.htm Gas just went down to about $1.29 a gallon yesterday. It was in the $1.40's before. Don't know about the cigarette prices. Comfort Inn is a new-ish hotel not too far from the city - 419-355-9300 but there are several others in the area too. Good luck with your trip. 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Ott, Jackman, Dietzel, Wiley, Yundt Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/WZB.2ACI/562.1.2.1.1 Message Board Post: I've been researcing the family for about a year and so far this is what i have on Fidel Ott. He was born in Neustadt,Freiburg,Baden Germany on March 22, 1810 and his parents were Matthae Ott and Maria(Lachenmayer) Ott. He immigrated to America in 1832 on a ship by the name of Hogarth which left the port of Le Havre and landed in New York on July 16, 1832. His first wife was Susannah Wiley and I think they had one daughter named Mary because there is a daughter Mary listed in his will. His second wife was Isabelle Wiley and they had four children, Susanna (Anna) Christa, William (who died at the Battle of Bentonville in 1865), Sarah (who married Elias Babione) and Charles (who married Sarah Jackman). His third wife was Eliza Dietzel who survived him and I believed she died in 1912. They had no children. Isabelle seems to have had two daughters by a Cornelius Nichols named Mary and Elizabeth before she married Fidel because they are also mentioned in his will and as it turned out Mary married another ancestor of mine Josiah Jackman who was the father of Sarah Jackman. I can't find anything on the relationship of Susannah and Isabella but I also think that they must of been sisters. I also found a copy of the Obituary for Susannah Chista "Anna" Ott Baumgardner: AGED BALLVILLE RESIDENT IS DEAD Mrs. Anna Ott Baumgardner, 83, died Monday morning at 1 o'clock at her home in Ballville township, following a brief illness due to a stroke of apoplexy. The body was taken to the Schwartz-Eagon mortuary and removed to the home Monday afternood. Funeral services will be held at the late home Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, the Rev. H. W. Ray, pastor of Salem Lutheran church, to officiate, and buril will be made in Oakwood cemetery. Mrs. Baumgardner was a daughter of Fidel and Isabelle Wiley Ott, born in Ballville township September 29, 1850, and had been residing at her late home the last 45 years. She was the last of a family of two sisters, two brothers, and three half sisters. One brother Charles F. Ott, preceded his sister in death by only a few days. On February 22, 1872, she was united in marriage with William Baumgardner, who preceded her in death seven years ago. Mrs. Baumgardner is survived by five children, Mrs. Rosa Shively, of Lindset: Wesley Baumgardner, of Blissfield, Mich; Mrs Mabe Albert, of Fremont; Mrs. Minnie Hiett and William Baumgardner, at home. There are 14 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. A kind and loving mother and a good neighbor, she leaves also a wide circle of friends. The Fremont Messenger, September 10, 1934 I hope this helps. Jeri
