Spent most of his childhood in Ohio. Married Oct 20 1831, in Hocking County, to Elizabeth Engle, father Adam. Moved to Indiana 1832, to Iowa 1851, to Nebraska 1858. Names of Hartwell's male children: Adam, Asa, Amos, Allen, Andrew and Arthur. I have the Engle's in 1820 census Falls Township, Hocking County. Have Elizabeth Engle b Jan 28 1812 Ross Co Ohio. Have 1810 Julies coleman, Granville township Licking county. Julius Coleman Fifth regiment, Second brigade, and Third division of Ohio militia, War of 1812: Julius on Tax Lists in Licking County 1810, 1814, 1816. COLEMAN, Julias GRANVILLE TOWN, GRANVILLE TOWNSHIP 1820 FEDERAL CENSUS LICKING COUNTY, OHIO JULIUS COLEMAN in The `Records of St. Luke's Parish' Granville. April 14th, 1827. In 1882 settlers listed in Noble county Indiana, shows only Hartwell Coleman and Julius Coleman. Also have an Asa Coleman Logan County, Ohio from Connecticut. and a Asa Coleman in Noble County Indiana where Hartwell moved to. Asa's Noble County Indiana land purchase about same time and place as Hartwell's land purchase. Leaning toward Asa or Julius as Hartwell's father but could be way off.
