I did not know about a first wife. My records indicate a family of 5 children beginning with James (b 1830) and ending with Katharine (b 1841) Any additional information would be greatly appreciated. My husband's grandfather was the son of Stephen who was wounded in the Civil War and died shortly after. His son William was given to or adopted by the LeClears and moved to MI.
