I am hoping that there is someone on this list who is descended for General Samuel H. Hurst (1831-1908) who was a prominent attorney in Chillicothe & one of the founders of the Ross County Historical Society. The Jackson County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society is planning a formal dedication of an Ohio Historical Marker at the James Cemetery - named for Major John James - in Jackson in about 2 months and we would like to make contact with descendants of General Hurst.
