I print out the land patent of the settlers in my genealogy line. Does anyone know if there is an internet site that would give you the name of the township, if you only have the description? The description is the Section, Township, and range. Marilyn

although I see someone was kind enough to look up the township from their copy of a county atlas for you, I would still like to tell you of another source. Most public libraries have a book called a Township Atlas that shows each state in the union that has townships, and in it are maps of each state broken down into counties, and each county broken down into townships. These books are normally found in the reference section of a library if not in the genealogy section. If the library is small and doesn't have one, they should be able to bring one in on interlibrary loan. Bear in mind the book is current so township names and lines may have changed.
