Andrew was married to Jane Bryant/Brian/Briant September 1835 in Ross Co. Andrew and Jane are noted as heirs to John Bryant, Chillicothe, Ross Co., OH. Andrew and Jane sold land 1836 to a possible relative of Jane's, Edward Young of Ross Co. There is a Joseph Lemon listed on the 1806 tax list for Ross Co., and later there is a will for a Joseph Lemon supposedly on file in Chillicothe, Ross Co. I suspect this Joseph is the father or at least a relative. Andrew had a brother Joseph born 1808 in Ohio who married an Elizabeth Carmean in 1833 also in Ross. Before the 1840 census both Andrew and Joseph are in Madison Co., IN, living next to each other. Another possible brother is Thomas who married in 1830 Margaret Hann in Ross Co. All three--Andrew, Joseph, and Thomas--were spelling their name Lemmon. Another possible brother could be the John Lemons who died in 1834 at age 22 in Ross County. He is listed for the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Buckskin Twp. Also at the Mt. Pleasant is a Joseph son of an Isaac and Mary Lemons. Andrew's first son was named John, and this makes me suspect that he may have been related to the John Lemon who is shown as a first land owner in Ohio, August 24, 1801. I would think with birth dates as early as 1810 and 1808 for Ross County, the parents of Andrew and Joseph would have to have been among the early settlers, but I can't find any Lemon/Lemons/Lemmon/Lemen first families discussed for the Chillicothe-Ross County area on any genealogy websites. Somebody has to know something about this group. Thank you for any connections. Melody Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
