I've "rescued" an old photograph of Abner ALDAY which was taken at the Nugent Studio in Chillicothe, Ohio. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1870's or 1880's with Abner likely in his 20's or 30's at the time it was taken. In addition to his name, someone has written "Teacher" and "Dead" on the back of the photograph. Based on limited research I believe I have been able to locate Abner in census records as follows: 1880 census of Liberty, OH: William ALDAY, age 58, born VA, a Laborer, parents born VA Harriett ALDAY, wife, age 51, born VA, Keeping House, parents born VA John ALDAY, son, age 26, born OH, a Laborer Abner ALDAY, son, age 15, born OH, a Laborer George ALDAY, son, age 12, born OH, at Home Thomas ALDAY, son, age 9, born OH, at Home 1910 census of Springfield, OH: Abner ALDAY, age 45, born OH, parents born VA, a US Postal Mail Carrier I'm hoping to locate someone from Abner's family so that this wonderful old photograph can be returned to their care.
