Daniel Wendell, who died in Huntington Twp. on 18 NOV 1850, was a great-grandson of Christophel Wendel (1717 - 1791), who was born near Framersheim, a village just northeast of Alzey, in the modern-day state of Rhein-Pfälz. Christphel, and his older brothers Valentine and Augustine, immigrated to Shenandoah Valley, VA in the 1730s. Augustine is documented on the ship "Samuel", arriving Philadelphia 17 AUG 1732. Daniel's wife was Catherine Starr -- they were married in Guernsey County 22 MAY 1817. Their son William lived in Huntington Twp. until about 1923. Daniel's headstone is in the cemetery on Denver Road, at the church cemetery. Donald L.
