I print out the land patent of the settlers in my genealogy line. Does anyone know if there is an internet site that would give you the name of the township, if you only have the description? The description is the Section, Township, and range. Marilyn
This is a hoax. It comes around every so often. Regards Eveline Crocker Texas -------- Original Message -------- From: "marge" <[email protected]> Subject: Bill 602P Charges for e-mail. To: "marge" <[email protected]> I guess the warnings were true. Federal Bill 602P 5-cents per email sent. It figures! No more free e-mail! We knew this was coming. Bill 602P will permit the Federal Government to charge a 5-cent charge on every delivered e-mail. Please read the following carefully if you intend to stay online, and continue using email. The last few months have revealed an alarming trend in the government of the United States attempting to quietly push through legislation that will affect our use of the Internet. Under proposed legislation, the US Postal Service will be attempting to bill e-mail users out of alternative postage fees. Bill 602P will permit the Federal Government to charge a 5-cent surcharge on every email delivered, by billing Internet Service Providers at source. The consumer would then be billed in turn by the ISP. Washington DC lawyer Richard Stepp is working without pay to prevent this legislation from becoming law. The US Postal Service is claiming lost revenue, due to the proliferation of email is costing nearly $230,000,000 in revenue per year. You may have noticed their recent ad campaign. There is nothing like a letter. Since the average person received about 10 pieces of e-mail per day in 1998, the cost of the typical individual would be an additional .50 cents per day - or over $180.00 a year - above and beyond their regular Internet cost. Note that this would be money paid directly to the US Postal Service for a service they do not even provide. The whole point of the Internet is democracy and noninterference. You are already paying an exorbitant price for snail mail because of bureaucratic efficiency. It currently takes up to 6 days for a letter to be delivered from coast to coast. If the US Postal Service is allowed to tinker with e-mail, it will mark the end of the free Internet in the United States. Our congressional representative, Toney Shcnekll (R) has even suggested a $20.00 - $40.00 per month surcharge on all Internet service above and beyond the governments proposed e-mail charges. Note that most of the major newspapers have ignored the story - the only exception being the Washingtonian - which called the idea of e-mail surcharge a useful concept who's time has come(March 6th, 1999 editorial). Do not sit by and watch your freedom erode away! Send this email to EVERYONE on your list, and tell all your friends and relatives to write their congressional representative and say NO to bill 602P. It will only take a few moments of your time and could very well be instrumental in killing a bill we do not want. Please forward this email. --------------A18DE410006EA6736CDEFAAE--

Gayle, do you have earlier information about your Keller line? I working on a Keller line in Lancaster Co., PA. (John and daughter, Adaline). It's possible some of the family moved on from there. > >George Keller, Sr. m. Hester Gunner/Conner and had Annie, George Jr., Elizabeth, Franklin and Amos. > >George Keller, Jr. m. Lovina Hough and had Katherine/Kate and possibly Alice and Patience. George Keller, Jr. m. Hello. I was wondering if anyone has any information on a Levi Trout that lived in Ross Co, Buckskin Twp (1830 census) ? He was born about 1804-1806 in VA, and was married to Margaret Thompson. I'm trying to find out his parent's and siblings names. I've been stuck on this for quite some time and would love any help. Thank you. Kind regards, Melanie

Buckskin Township in Ross County seems to figure prominently in my ancestors lives. Correspondence from other relatives on the same trail is welcomed. Hi everyone, I am researching a Thomas Robison. About 1840's in Ross county. Looking for his wife and children. Would love to chat with anyone researching ROBISON's for this county. Blessings Doreen
Hello List, I am seeking any information at all on the families of my 3rd great grandparents, Speakman (Spakeman, Speakman) JONES and Elizabeth BURNS. The only thing I know for sure is that they married in Highland County in 1838. They appear on the Ross County, Ohio 1840 census in the 20-30 yr. age bracket with no children. They next appear on the 1850 Fulton County, Illinois census and remain there until their deaths. I am wondering about these individuals that appear near them in the 1840 census. (I already have the 1840 census information for these JONES) A William JONES lives next to Spakeman on page 364. On page 361 is an Ellis JONES. These three JONES are in Paint Twp., Ross, Ohio. There is a Henry BURNS listed on page 339--no twp. listed (I do not have this census information). I believe it is the only BURNS in the county. I am wondering if he was the father of Elizabeth. Someone once suggested that they may have been Quakers as they married in Highland County and resided in Ross County. I could find nothing to verify that. None of the other names--William JONES, Ellis JONES, or Henry BURNS appear in Fulton County, Illinois with Spakeman. Maybe he went by himself. I just don't have much. If anyone is researching this line, or can offer the smallest hint of where to research, I would be greatly appreciative. I'm not yet familiar with the resources available in Ross County, but am open for any ideas. Thank you so very much Kristy Schumacher in Peetz, Colorado
Hi List: Could some one please help me find data on my Uncle Thomas MILLER or his descendents. All I had for years was his name. Thomas MILLER was born ca 1893 in Ross or Pike Co. OH. to Mary (Molly) Catherine Miller. The father is not known to me. Thomas was found on the 1910 census age 17 with his grandparents Isaac J. (James Isaac) and Margaret MILLER in Alma Ross Co. OH. Could have been born in either Ross or Pike Co's OH. Would really appreciate a birth record lookup. Was he married in either Ross or Pike Co. Oh.? Date would probably be 1913 or later. Did he leave any descendents? Thanks in advance for any help no matter how little. John <[email protected]

Hi, I am a new subscriber to this list. I am looking for information on HAROLD CUTRIGHT or his sister PAULINE CUTRIGHT. They were the children of FLOYD CUTRIGHT and GRACE WATSON. I don't know their dates of birth, but they were probably born around 1900, give or take 10 years. Grace grew up in Ashtabula County, Ohio, the daughter of PHILIP H. and MEDORA (PLATT) WATSON. I recently learned that Harold Cutright may have died July 27, 1996, last living at Chillicothe, Ross County, Ohio, although I am unsure if that is the same Harold Cutright. Does anyone recognize these surnames? John W. Sharp
