I have Dr/Capt John Caplinger in my ancestry. His daughter, Elizabeth Keplinger/Caplinger married my gggrandfather, Peter Setty/Zetty. Most of the Caplinger information can be found in Velma Rhoads Trant's book, "Memoirs of my Ancestry". The only place I've seen this book is in the Rhoads Family information file in the Southern Ohio Genealogy Library (Highland County, Ohio) located at the Southern States Community College, Hillsboro, Ohio. Her information is referenced from "Wayland's Virginia Records", p. 21. Dr. Caplinger's second wife was Barbara Hatter. They were married Aug. 7, 1836 in Highland County, Ohio. There were several Caplinger people mentioned in Velma's book. Also, "History of Ross and Highland Counties, Ohio",(Williams Brothers, pub.) list several Caplinger/Keplingers. I doubt if I helped you much, but I've given you some resources. If I had them in front of me, I would gladly search. Maybe someone else, has these books close at hand. Happy searching. although I see someone was kind enough to look up the township from their copy of a county atlas for you, I would still like to tell you of another source. Most public libraries have a book called a Township Atlas that shows each state in the union that has townships, and in it are maps of each state broken down into counties, and each county broken down into townships. These books are normally found in the reference section of a library if not in the genealogy section. If the library is small and doesn't have one, they should be able to bring one in on interlibrary loan. Bear in mind the book is current so township names and lines may have changed.
