    3. Anne Marie, You should be able to find his death record at the Ross County Probate Court, Archives Division, 2 N. Paint Street, Chillicothe, Ohio 45601. This costs $1 and a SSAE. Put it to the attention of "Janet". If you want to call first about anything the phone # is (740) 774-1179. (If you call there is a long "menu" but just hit the number for "archives" and Janet will answer.) It should also be available at the Ross County Health Dept., Vital Statistics, 475 Western Ave., Suite A, Chillicothe, Ohio 45601. I don't remember how much their copies are. The phone number is (740) 779-9630. Good luck, Lynn (in southern Ohio)

    2. Hi Folks, I am new to this site and hope that it might be productive for myself and all you others on it. One thought, another County Site I am on has started what they call a "roll call" that has been super productive. Most of those using this particular county site have listed the surnames they are researching in that county. Am sure some of you are familiar with this approach. The surnames I am searching for in Ross Co. are: KANE/CAIN, KELLY & RICHARDS. Time period is 1810 to 1850. Hope I can help someone else with their surnames. Thank you, Harve Wolfe

    1. re: SUMMERSETT family
    2. Hello list!! I'm new to this list and have subscribed in hopes that someone out there might be able to help me with the SUMMERSETT family. I have been working in researching the SUMMERSETT family in Van Wert county, Ohio as John SUMMERSETT who married Rachel DUFLINGER in Ross county 21 Jan 1819 moved to Van Wert. There, one of their daughters, Sarah SUMMERSETT married Jeremiah HIRE. I have traced much of the family pertaining to this branch of the family and am willing to share with anyone who is interested. I notice that there are a few SUMMERSETTS in your marriage index on the county page. Henry SUMMERSETT married Catherine HARLEY, William SUMMERSETT married Catherine RHINEHART, Rebecca SUMMERSETT married Felis WELSH. I'm sure that these SUMMERSETTS are all related! Can anyone help? Thanks Maria Mastin

    2. Carolyn Holbrook
    3. Hi, I am new to the list. I am researching Clemuel WILLIAMS was supposedly born in Ross Co. 2-21-1842. His parents house burned down when he was 8 or 10 years old. I've seen some references to him being born in Yellowbud, Chillicothe, and Ross County in his civil war pension records. I am trying to locate him in the 1850 census. He is not in the index, probably living with siblings or parents home. I have found him in Madison Co. in the 1860 census no parents. I presume they are either dead or still in Ross Co. I believe he has 2 brothers with him in Madison County, William born 1836 and George born 1838. There are 3 females Mary born 1847, Mary born 1857 Martha born 1856. No spouses. They are living with various families. I have found his name to be Clemuel, Clement, Lemuel and Samuel. Really makes it difficult! I don't know his parents names. I'm trying to get his death certificate from Columbus. If anyone recognizes this family I would appreciate a contact. Thank you, Carolyn
