    3. Yes I know Kesiah is a "real name" too. However, the marriage record for William Aker says the bride was Eliza Ann, assuming they got it right in that record. And since a Kesiah Reed was in the census, living in same household (as a worker ) with William Aker, I just assumed she was the one he married. Could be wrong! I can see where a census taker might confuse the name Eliza with Keziah. -----Original Message----- From: Florence Cannariato [SMTP:[email protected]] Sent: October 15, 2001 11:32 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [OHROSS] Kesiah Mary M Ferm wrote: > I also have a Kesiah/Keziah. I suppose everything that I wanted to know was posted last week! I am looking for McKENZIE / McKINZIE / McKINSEY roots in Ross County in the 1810 - 1820 time range. Isabel McKENZIE married Ezra LUCAS in PA in 1811. Their first child was born later the same year in Buckskin Twp, Ross Co. Jane McKENZIE married Daniel LUCAS in 1817 in Ross County. The LUCASes purchased property in Madison Twp, Highland Co in 1831 and 1832. I don't know if Isabel and Jane were related. But, the coincidence of their names makes me consider that possibility. Another coincidence may have meaning. Hugh McKINSEY was in the vicinity at the same time. In fact, he is enumerated in the 1820 and 1830 censuses as a neighbor of the LUCASes. Hugh McKINSEY remained in Ross Co after the LUCASes moved to Highland. I would appreciate any guidance with my specific McKENZIE ladies or with Hugh McKENZIE's roots. Thanks for your efforts. --Jack Trauth ============================== Visit Ancestry's Library - The best collection of family history learning and how-to articles on the Internet. http://www.ancestry.com/learn/library

If you have information or a connection, please e-mail privately as I will be unsubbing soon to try some other counties. Can't keep up with all the mail! Thanks. I am searching for information or other descendants of William AKER b. abt 1831 OH He is listed in the 1850 census of Ross Co. OH working as a laborer for Wm. Kellenbarger. Also listed is a "Kesiah" Reed, age 14 working as a domestic. This must be a misspelling of Eliza. Records show William married Eliza Ann Reed in Ross Co. on Jan. 2, 1852. Their daughter (my great grandmother) Laura was born Oct., 1856 in Fairfield Co. I have found no other records of the family until 1875 when Laura married Daniel Keller in Huntington Co. IN Would love to hear from anyone with information on this family. Happy to share what I have. Karen
