    3. Hi Ann, Mary JOHNs was born about 1796 in Pennsylvania to Thomas & Mary Magdalene (Stickle) JOHNs and moved with her parents to Madison Twp., Richland Co., OH in 1808. Her father was born in Wales in 1764, and possibly her mother, too, in 1765. Mary married Nathaniel PLUCK (don't know when or where), who was also from Pennsylvania. They had about 9 children. Nathaniel died in 1837 in Richland Co., OH. On 13 Nov. 1842, Mary JOHNs Pluck married John HUGHES /Hughs in Mansfield. I don't know anything about John, but know that Mary was still living by Aug. 26, 1855 as she was mentioned in one of her son-in-law's letters from the gold fields in Calif. The son-in-law was my 3rd great-grandfather, Edward McGourn, who married Mary's daughter, Mary PLUCK in 1846 in Mansfield, Richland Co., OH. Do you know the exact date your John Hughes died and where he is buried? You had asked for an obituary for him. Did you receive it? Thanks so much, Danja Thompson ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ann Atherton" <asath-76@earthlink.net> To: <gc-gateway@rootsweb.com>; <ohrichla@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, January 15, 2008 6:46 PM Subject: Re: [OHRICHLA] John Hughes > My John Hughes was born in Wales in about 1794. 3. Hi, Danja, I do not see any connection with your John Hughes. My John died 26 July 1862. No, I have not received an obit for him. Perhaps there was not one in the local papers. He and his family came to Richland Co. in 1830 from Beaver Co., PA. I was hoping that maybe his parents names might be mentioned in an obit, but that's too much to hope for! Good luck, Ann ----- Original Message ----- From: "Danja" <dthompson2@neo.rr.com> To: <ohrichla@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, January 16, 2008 9:56 AM Subject: Re: [OHRICHLA] John Hughes > Hi Ann, > > Mary JOHNs was born about 1796 in Pennsylvania to Thomas & Mary > Magdalene (Stickle) JOHNs and moved with her parents to Madison Twp., > Richland Co., OH in 1808.
