Again working with the wonderful word 'if'... if this family (William & Elizabeth Robison) are the parents of my James & Joseph as I think they might be, I can then determine they came from Westmoreland Co., PA after Jan 1818 and before Aug 1819 based on the birth info of my James and Joseph. I will say all of the census data I have collected of my Robison line shows them to consistantly be farmers. While the William Robison family in the 1810-1840 census does not list occupation, the 1850 census with 'possible/probable' son Samuel shows him to be a farmer. As a side note: In researching this and SEVERAL other Robison families I have found the surname to be listed in a variety of ways throughout the years and generations... almost every variable imaginable! If this was due to poor spelling or a spoken accent I can't say, but they have been listed as Robeson, Roberson, Robison, Robinson, Robertson and Robbeson. Makes them fun to research :-) I wish you success in your research and please do keep me informed if you run across anything interesting and I'll do the same for you! Happy Holidays! Connie
