The house was supposed to have been built as a tavern or drover's inn. I have been doing genealogy on the former owners and residents of the property. In 1817 the property was purchased by four men - John Wilson, Thomas Robinson (I've seen it spelled Robison in some documents), John Sloan and David Robinson. It is my hunch that they purchased the property to build a tavern. It would probably have been managed by a non-owner. In 1850 a Jemima and Thomas Robison sold the lots to Sarah A. Bull (TJ Bull's wife). The Bulls are an old Loudonville family. Are these your Robisons? Can you tell me where they lived through the decades? Is there anything in what you have researched that might indicate that Th. Robison owned property or part interest in a tavern?
