The Ohio Genealogical Society, 713 South Main Street, Mansfield, Ohio, is the best place to do Richland County research, in my opinion. Membership is $27.00 per year or you can pay $4.00 per day. A volunteer is there each day to help guide you. Hours are 9-5 Tuesday through Saturday. The Mansfield-Richland County Public Library is next best and it is open evenings, Monday through Thursday 9-9, Friday and Saturday 9-5:00 or 5:30. It has microfilm of most of the newspapers published in the county. The Sherman Room is the local history and genealogy room.
