I have been trying to find out some info on Richard or Christopher Burkett. I know he died Dec of 1861 at the age of 31. He leaves a wife Elizabeth and four children, Alfred; William; Catherine; and my ggrandfather James Franklin who was just a few days old. This family has a sad story as all of the children die in their 20's and early 40's. I guess it carries over as my own father died of a heart attack at 36.I find this family in the Knox co census July of 1861. They are listed under Barkett. A libraian there found an old paper that read Christopher Burkett dies in steam saw mill accident in Lexington formerly of Knox. This is where my story goes cold. I know Elizabeth brought the four children to Iowa a few years later and the story picks up here.I want so much to know what happened in Ohio. In the Knox census it showed an old man Michael 76 and woman Catherine 74 living with them.I've always thought these were my greatgrandfather's parents but I have no idea where they! ended up when their son died. Any help you can give me would be so greatly appreciated. I am at a dead end. My email is [email protected] Sincerely thankyou! Linda
