I am looking for a marriage record for James Smith and Susana around 1830 give or take a year or two. Their first daughter was born in 1831. I do not know Susana's maiden name. I found them in Census records in Indiana in 1850 and the names are listed and the parents and eight of the children are born in Ohio. I have looked through Census re cords prior to 1850 but have not been able to find them. The Only Ohio marriage record I can find for a James Smith and Susana is from Darke County and the Susana is an Overly but now that I know where James is born I would have to say that it is not them... Just recieved Civil War records for their son James W, my gggrandfather. His Military record stated that he was born in DeKalb Ohio. Any help would be appreciated... Thanks, Janet Smith.
