James Morehead (misspelled in the 1880 census as "Moorhead," was born in 1846 and married Elizabeth Stewart, born 1850. In 1880, James lived in Shiloh and had two children, a 6-year-old girl, first initial "R" and a 3-year-old boy, Charles or "Charley," my great-grandfather; James' occupation at this time is listed "idle." Charley married Mary Elizabeth Dailey and lived in Shiloh as of the 1900 census; they moved to Nova in Ashland County a short time later. James' father was born in Ohio and his mother in Pennsylvania; I do not know their names. An old family story has us descended from one of five Cherokee brothers who fled soldiers rounding them up for the reservation. I'm guessing James' mother was this Indian's daughter. I would be VERY grateful for any information on James, his family and his parents, his grandparents, why he was idle in 1880 -- as much as I can get. Thank you very much.
