    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Miller, Yeager Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/AYB.2ACE/469 Message Board Post: I have a Joseph S. Miller born about 1825 from Ashland Co, Ohio...that married an Unknown Yeager who was from PA. They had four children, Mary born 1849, Charity born 1851, Daniel born 1855, and Isaac born July 1861. The children were all born in Ohio. I can not find them in the 1870 census, which only shows Joseph and his 2nd wife and their first child Hannah age four living in Ashland, Ohio......but then the 1880 census shows all the children living back at home with their father and stepmother...Maybe the children were living with their mother during the 1870's and maybe she died??? Need some help.....thanks

    3. I'm not really sure why you are posting this on Richland Co. 1870 Census, RCO, shows 1 Joseph Miller. 3d Ward Mansfield, same age as yours, but born France, as is his wife, Mary. All different children, born Ohio. Clearly not yours.I see your Joseph S in Ashland Co. that year. I think you may have made a mistake in posting to the wrong board. There is a Mary E Miller, 21 in the 1870 Census for Monroe Twp., RCO, servant in the household of Joseph Smart (whose wife appears to have been prviously married to a McBride (or maybe those are grandchildren). My guess is that the children were living with grandparents after the death of theor mother, but I can't find them in 1870, either.
