Dear listers, Does anyone know what the nearest German newspaper was if you lived in Mansfield in the 1870's? My ancestor died in 1873 and the Mansfield paper carried no obit for him and I thought maybe it would have been in the nearest German paper instead. Margaret
Hi Margaret! The nearest German newspaper was in Mansfield. The COURIER first appeared on 5 October 1872 and was still being published in 1880. If it exists on film, it's probably at OGS, OHS or the State Library. ----- Original Message ----- From: Margaret James To: [email protected] Sent: Wednesday, April 30, 2003 4:56 PM Subject: [OHRICHLA] German newspaper Dear listers, Does anyone know what the nearest German newspaper was if you lived in Mansfield in the 1870's?
