Sometime after that his family went to Ohio and settled in Richland Co. what was then Clearcreek Twp. He married Sarah Ross b. 1810 in Ohio in 1828. She was the daughter of Thomas Ross b. 1776 in Delaware and Susannah Holland. Thomas and Susannah were married in Washington Co., PA and then moved to Clearcreek Twp. also. I have all of the land records and tax records for the above individuals. I know that Samuel and Sarah had 8 children born there of which three died as infants. I have no record as to sex, name, date, or burial of these three. Susannah also died while they were in Ohio and I don't know about burial for her either. It may have just been on the farm. I am trying to find parents for Samuel and a link as to where Thomas came from in Delaware. So far, no luck. I do have a land record for a David Cole grantee with Samuel and a William Cole as witnesses. The only William I can find in Richland Co. at th! e time was in (I think) Huron Twp. and he's old enough to be the father - just no proof. Samuel was also a local preacher (exhorter) for the ME church and was licensed out of the Olivesburg circuit in 1847. I have his license. I have not been in contact with the archivist at the Olivesburg Methodist church as she was on vacation while I was there. I will write her in a couple of days. This is probably more than you wanted to know, but if you run across anything that help break down one of these brick walls, it would be greatly appreciated.
