I knew I had information on the William Trucks/Trux family. This information is from a very lengthy Court Case sent to me by Nancy Hidinger of the Richland County Genealogical Society. On page 2, of Common Pleas Court Case, 1839-Q-2f: "...April..1831...the said William Trucks the Younger leaving as his children and heirs at law, Lura Vanfossen, formerly Lura Trucks, who has intermarried with Levy Vanfossen and Sophia Lewis, formerly Sophia Trucks who has intermarried with Alvin N. Lewis and Lydia Trucks the Younger of said Richland County and Julia Trucks of Huron County in said State and Lucy Ann Trucks of Lurcen (sic) County State of Pennsylvania and George Trucks and Clarrissa Trucks Charles Trucks John Trucks Emily Trucks and Porter A. Trucks of said County of Richland. The said Lucy Ann, George, Clarrissa, Charles, John & Porter A. being minors under the age of twenty one years ---- and Lydia Trucks the Elder, the widow of the said William Trucks the Younger." Also, a clue that an Abraham Trucks may somehow be connected to this dispute of William Trucks' Estate. Common Pleas Court...1839-Q-2f "The Sheriff of Said County....We command you that you Subpoena Abraham Trucks, James N. Ayres, Daniel Ayres & Pamelia Ayers, his wife, William Ayers and Edward Murphy." Deposition of John Bowers of Luzerne County of state of Pennsylvania, 1839-q-2- u "I the said John Bowers being of Lawful age and duly sworn on my said oath...that I have been well acquainted with William Trucks the Father of Lucy Ann Trucks and that said William Trucks has been gone from Luzerne County to Ohio the year one thousand eight hundred & fifteen in the month of July or August and further saith not." In the same depositon, Lucrecia Bowman of Luzerne County state of Pennsylvania "...When William Trucks and family moved from Luzerne County to Ohio the Mother of Lucy Ann Trucks said that Lucy Ann Trucks was then about two and a half years old and from appearance I...that was about her age and further saith not." Court of Common Pleas 1839-q-2Deposition "I John Bowman of Lawfull age and...I was well acquainted with William Trucks th eElder Late of Said Richland County deceased and I was well acquainted with William Trucks the Younger and George Trucks both of whom were sons of the said William Trucks the Elder. I was acquainted with the said Sylvania Holgate wife of James Holgate and the said Maria Trucks...I do further depose and say that the said Sylvinia and Maria are the daughters of the said George Trucks and the Grand Daughters of the said William Trucks the Elder and the said George Trucks has been reported dead for many Years..." One researcher puts Nicholas Trux as the husband of Ruth Trux, parents of John J. Trux. There is a John Trucks who marries Mary Haller, 12 May 1831 in Huron County, Ohio. A Mary Ann Trux who marries a Silas Bowers 6 January 1833, Huron County, Ohio and a Lydia Trux who marries a Lazerus Evans 5 Dec 1836, Huron County, Ohio. That's all I have for now on the Trucks family. I'm still looking for the parents of Susannah Trucks who married Thomas McCluer. Susannah Trucks, b. about 1790, PA, d. August 1838, Illinois. James W. McCluer ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jim Boyce" <[email protected]> Date: Wed, 30 Oct 2002 21:34:39 +0100 To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [OHRICHLA] TRUX or TRUCKS and BOWERS > > The following info is taken from A.A.
