James, You probably have the info from AA Graham's History which also identifies Virginia as James McCluer's native state, but also says that he came to Richland Co. with his relative, Jonathan Oldfield, and nephew Samuel McCluer, from Pickaway Co. Samuel, says Graham, was born in Rockbridge Co., Virginia, but his family moved to near Circleville (Ross Co.; Pickaway Co. after 1810) in 1805. Looks like you have the right place.
