    1. [OHRICHLA] Ernest FINICLE b. abt. 1870
    2. Both a subscriber to the OHRichla list and a published transcription of the 1880s census suggest that the boy indexed as Ernest FINIOLE by Ancestry.com in the 1880 census of Richland County, Ohio,  really is Ernest FINICLE.  After looking more closely at an image of the census page, I agree. The 1880 census of Butler Township, Richland County, Ohio, shows this household: John S. PENNELL, married, male, 48, farmer, b Pennsylvania, father born Scotland, mother born England Alice L. Pennell, wife, married, female, 54, keeping house, self father mother born New York John A. WILSON, son-in-law, married, male, 20, tin peddler, born Indiana, mother born Ohio Florence R. Wilson, daughter, married, female, 19, born Ohio, father born Pennsylvania, mother born New York Albert C. Wilson, grandson, single, male, 11 months, born Ohio, father born Indiana, mother born Ohio Ernesl FINICLE, bound, single, male, 10, school, born Ohio I have been unable to find Ernest Finicle in the 1870 census or in any later census. I'm looking for information on Ernest Finicle's parents or his life as an adult. I *do* know quite a bit about Ernest Pennell and his descendants. I suspect he may be the man later known as Ernest Pennell.  Last week at the DAR library I checked a book of abstracts of Richland County, Ohio, adoptions for 1808-1890 but didn't find any entries for Finicle or Pennell or similar.  Frances Van Scoy, FrancesVanScoy@aol.com VanScoy-Knapp reunion, vsk03@aol.com ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com. ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
