    3. ----- Original Message ----- From: Sandy Schnipke To: OHRICHLA@rootsweb.com Sent: Friday, June 15, 2007 2:55 PM Subject: [OHRICHLA] roll call of family names Here are my Richland County surnames: GRAY,CHAMBERS,ARMSTRONG,GLASS,BEER,MARKER,DICUS,LIGGETT,LEGGETT,CHEW,PATTERSON,KINER,COULTER,SHERIFF,WARNS,MURPHY,GREER. Sandra (Gray) Schnipke Elizabeth Chew born Jan 20 1840 married Ira G. Hackett on Sep 6 1870. She died Jul 6 1911, he died May 17, 1902 (spending much of their life in Richland County and primarily in the Township of Blooming Grove). Her father is Amon S. Chew born Oct 15 1811 in Harrison County, Ohio and died Aug 2 1890 near Rome, Ohio. Her mother is yet a puzzle to me - for her name is Mary Hackett b. Sept 28 1811 (possibly in Pennsylvania) and died Sep 30 1878 in Blooming Grove Township, Richland County, Ohio. I have not found her parents nor how she might be connected to all the many other Hackett's that I have in my files. She and Amon were married in Richland County April 2 1839. gwgenie@alltel.net

    3. We have a familywebsite with our Peterson Pages listed there. Family names from Richland County and Ashland County, Ohio: Peterson/Vail/Archer/Mitchell/Guthrie. Our paternal ancestor John Griggs Peterson married Mary "Polly" Vail and was an original pioneer and settler in Richland/Ashland County, Monroe Township, circa 1810. Our website is:http://mysite.verizon.net/ljonson/id29.html and then go to the Peterson Pages. You will find a wealth of information on the Peterson (early Dutch family); Vail/Archer/Mitchell and Guthrie families of Richland and Ashland Counties of Ohio. You might wish to start with Peterson Pages Vol 2 Issue 4, which starts with John Griggs Peterson who died in Richland County, Ohio. Enjoy! Annie Peterson Johnson

    3. FERGUSON, HAVERFIELD, COLE, KISTLER, I would like to find any descendants of a cousin of my ggrandmother, whose maiden name was Evelyn Beatrice Emmons. I think her son may still be in the area and may have worked for the police or sheriff once. I have some nice pictures of her as a child. My ggrandfather's son Ralph Cole left descendants I was unable to trace. I would also be interested in finding descendants of Elverta Bloom, a close friend of my great grandmother. 3. Hello Sandy, I am wondering if you have any info on your Leggett/Liggett families arrival in America. Did they arrive in the 1800's or were they here in colonial times? My ggggrandfather, Richard Bowles, sold his land to the Leggett family in New London, Huron Co in the late 1800's where they opened a tile/brick making buisiness. Are these your ancestors? So the reason I am wondering about there arrival time is to see if these two families were aquainted before coming to America or after.
