Dear list, I was looking at this first site and they state that Luna Park was in Cleveland, now I am confused. I thought Luna Park was an old name for Casino Park in Mansfield. Can anyone set me straight? My Downs and Bell families had reunions there and in 1919 I think it was called North Lake Park. Am I loosing it??? Dear List, I am going through the 1915 Richland Co directory and find these strange letter combinations at the end of each listing. I have asked Amy to check the book for more abbreviations but she says there is no other information to indicate what these letters mean. Does anyone know? A few examples: uecd. umd. cald. cbud. cudd. acmd. buld. meld. Also what is the number just after the township? it is not the person's age, what is it? the telephone number? Margaret

Hi, Edmund Bricker appears in the 1870 U.S. census, residing with his family in Jackson Township, but not in the 1880 census. However, his wife Lucinda and two children appear under another surname in 1880, so the likelihood is that he passed away in the interim. Could someone please tell me through a lookup whether there was an obituary, death record, or even information in a will abstract in the County Courthouse that could give the year of death, if nothing more? He's apparently not listed in "Richland County, Ohio Abstracts of Wills 1813-1873" by Anne Dallas Budd, so I gather he must have passed away sometime between 1874 and 1880. Thanks very much! Dale Bricker

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/AYB.2ACE/377.1 Message Board Post: Sandy, I am researching the Reas in Richland County, Ohio (especially in Newville), as well as in Bedford and Cumberland Counties in Pennsylvania. My g-g-grandfather was James A. Rea, born in 1827, supposedly in Cumberland County, but I now have reason to believe he was born in Bedford and later loved to Cumberland for a short while before coming to Ohio. I believe he's a son of James Rea of Bedford County, PA. James A. Rea was married to Lucinda Barber in Summit County, Ohio on April 11, 1852 and they went to Oshkosh, Wisconsin, where their first child, Lela, was born in 1853. They first owned a livery stable there, at 104 Kansas Street, and later, the Empire House Hotel, at 107 Main Street. In 1870, they moved to Sparta, Wisconsin and, in 1877, to Marshall, Lyon County, Minnesota, where James died in 1894. Gary Rea

James, You probably have the info from AA Graham's History which also identifies Virginia as James McCluer's native state, but also says that he came to Richland Co. with his relative, Jonathan Oldfield, and nephew Samuel McCluer, from Pickaway Co. Samuel, says Graham, was born in Rockbridge Co., Virginia, but his family moved to near Circleville (Ross Co.; Pickaway Co. after 1810) in 1805. Looks like you have the right place.
