    1. [OHRICHLA] O-O-C Obit.: Mrs. Stephen Perry STURGES // GIBB, MacKAY
    2. The following from the BROOKLYN EAGLE of July 9 will be of interest to the many friends and relatives of the Sturges family in this city: Many Brooklynites will hear with feelings of deep regret of the sudden death of Mrs. Stephen Perry Stures, which took place last night at Argyle Park, Babylon, L.I. Mrs. Sturges was the wife of Mr. Stephen Perry Sturges, a well-known member of the New York bar. Mrs. Sturges was the center of a circle of friends composed not alone of residents of Brooklyn, but of New York, Philadelphia and other cities, who esteemed her for her grace of manner and for many charming traits. She was a sister of Mrs. John Gibb, who is now traveling in Europe, and of Mr. Donald MacKay of the firm of Vermilye & Co. of New York. Her husband and infant four days old survive her. The funeral will take place on Thursday at 10 a.m. from Argyle Park, Babylon. Source: RICHLAND SHIELD & BANNER: 27 July 1895, Vol. LXXVIII, No. 11

Mr. O'Hearn was brought home Wednesday night from the sanitarium where he was taken for treatment, as his mental condition was not improved. From the list of newspapers on the Richland County web site, it would appear that the Mansfield Herald is the best bet. Were there any others in the Shiloh area at that time? 2. Source: THE MANSFIELD HERALD: 23 April 1885, Vol. 35, No. 23 Mr. E.M. Wolff, the monument dealer, has recently placed in position the statuary belonging to the Vasbinder lot in the cemetery. They consist of four granite figures, each five feet, six inches in height. The two in front have a sitting posture and represent "Memory" and the "Recording Angel". The third is "Hope", with a cross clasped upon the breast and the other represents an ideal "Flora" spreading flowers. When completed the Vasbinder enclosure and monuments will rival any private mural or cemetery decorations in the State. The models for the figures were made by F. Muer, of New York, a sculptor of no mean celebrity. The coping, pedestals, and statues for the lot cost in the neighborhood of $10,000, and the work of elaborating the ornaments will take two or three months.
