I can't help with Martin, but the will of Adam LOUGH of Plymouth Twp., written on 10 August 1848 and entered for probate 4 September 1848 gives: "To Isaac HOLLABAUGH, adopted child living with us, $250.00 and common scholl education provided he resides here until age 21." Adam's wife was Tracy Lough. I don't find a will for Martin or any other Hollaboaugh by any spelling. Hi Ann. My husband is a direct descendent of the Francis Ashton and Elizabeth MacKinder that you mention. The information that I have about them comes mostly from a Joyce Hughes and Ruth Ashton who did the actual research. The other two you mention are such common first names, but I have nothing connected to the wives you list. Francis Ashton and Elizabeth MacKinder came from England to Richland County to Hardin County to Allen County -- specifically Lima. Their children as I have them are: Christopher (died as a baby), William, Charles F., Dr. Edwin Earl, Christopher (Christ), Francis Mackinder Ashton, Eliza, Henry Mackinder Ashton, John Rudgard (J.R.) Ashton and Ruth Ann. My husband goes through the Dr. Edwin Earl Ashton line. Dr. Ashton was a surgeon in the Civil War and later owned a pharmacy in Lima. We have an article and picture concerning his 'battle' with the temperance women of the times which is kind of humorous. Dr. Ashton fathered Charles Ashton (m Ara Flager) who fathered Edwin Earl Ashton Sr. (m Martha Bigelow) who fathered James (Jim) Arlington Ashton (m Madonna Winke). Everyone in this short listing is deceased except my father-in-law, Jim. I'm certainly willing to share anything that I have which might help, but I am no expert on the Ashtons; I mostly only have what has been handed down from Joyce Hughes and Ruth Ashton. On the other hand, I do have some Athertons in my McIntosh line. Do we connect there? The McIntosh family is highly organized and work together through a lot of different lines and colateral lines. Hope to hear more from you. Hi all ... Hope that everyone has been keeping up on the latest news regarding the upcoming changes to Ohio death certificates. If not, I thought that I would post a reminder ..... As of July 1st., you will NO LONGER be able to get UNcertified copies of death certificates (the ones that have been available for five cents). You will only be able to get certified copies, which will also now have an additional $5 surcharge - raising the total to $15 each. The years covered are 1945 to the present. Information on where to get uncertified death certificates before the July 1st. price increase can be found on the Death Records page of the Richland Co. site .... http://www.rootsweb.com/~ohrichla/DeathRecords.htm For those of you who haven't ordered an uncertified copy of a death certificate - the document is simply a photocopy of the record that has been stamped "Statistical Use Only". It is still perfectly acceptable for genealogical research purposes. Also on July 1st. is the possible closure of the death certificate index at the Ohio Historical Society website, which covers 1913 - 1937, a portion of the entire database. The changes there reflect less state financial support of OHS, and staffing reductions. The index can be found at: http://www.ohiohistory.org/dindex/ If you haven't ordered these important records yet, it would be a good idea to get them ordered quickly. Amy

This is to Nancy Pf, I would like to thank you for posting the below information. I found a lot of my Crawford family marriages at the first site. Very helpful. Deborah Toledo, Ohio Richland OH Marriages are searchable through the IGI Batch numbers. http://groups.msn.com/GENEALOGYGENERAL/_whatsnew.msnw Click on Ohio, then Noble-Ross, then scroll down for Richland. See also http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~hughwallis/IGIBatchNumbers.htm select USA, Ohio, and scroll to Richland. Click on the batch #, and type in the name. There are also directions to print the whole batch. Nancy Pf
Hi, I have a question about the statement below. If the volume is missing, can it be located someplace else on microfilm, or was that it? Thanks, Deborah Toledo, Ohio Most likely, if they were married in Richland County, it would have been recorded in marriage records volume 2 (1825-1834) which is missing.
Enoch Poland lived on the Richland /Wayne co boarder in the early 1830,s.He had a half dozen kids in the area and the county lines must have been changed during his time there. This area is now a park I was told for the Indians who lived there. It also may be in Ashland co. at this pointI wonder where their records would be. ________________________________________________________________ The best thing to hit the internet in years - Juno SpeedBand! Good morning: Am looking for our McKEE ancestors and need a lookup in the census for 1900-1910-1920-or 1930 in Richland Co. for a John McKEE. He would be 20 years old in 1900 and according to the obit for his Father Wm. G. McKee he was living in Shelby. That was in 1926. I would appreciate any help you can offer. If we can ever do anything for you in Beaver County,PA just yell. Since a lot of people who ended up in Ohio came through this area yours may have been one of them. G&G George D.
