Well, this additional information eliminates this John Weirick for me. . My John Weirich / Weirick died in 1852 and is buried in the Old Sugar Creek Cemetery, in Wayne Co., OH. Now I am interested in knowing who Peter Weirick's parents were. Thanks for posting the information. John WEYRICK & James AYRES, Jr. purchased the SE 1/4 of Section 10 of Perry (Leepsic) Twp. on 30 January 1815, but assigned it to James HUNTSMAN before the sale was finalized on 13 May 1820. This is the only Perry (Leepsic) Twp land I find for him in the Original Purchasers lists. Jacob WIRICK of Bedford Co., Pennsylvania purchased the SW 1/4 of Section 15 (the next section south of Section 10) on 27 October 1815, but assigned it to William McFERRIN before the sale was finalized on 2 January 1830. George WIRICK of Columbiana Co., Ohio purchased the NE 1/4 of Section 22 (therefore the 160 acres adjoining those of Jacob WIRICK to the south) on 27 October 1815 and finalized that sale on 20 January 1820. John WEIRICK was assigned the SE 1/4 of Section 18 of Jefferson Twp (east of and immediately adjacent to Perry Twp) by Peter WEIRICK of Richland Co. sometime after 19 August 1816, but re-assigned that land to Rudolph MARE sometime before 24 August 1827. John WEYRICK of Richland Co. aquired the W 1/2 of the SE 1/4 of Section 17 (adjacent to land owned by Peter WIRICK, also of Richland Co.) in 1826. on 26 April 1816, John WEYRICK of Richland Co. purchased the NE 1/4 of Section 31 of Troy Twp. (directly north of Perry (Leepsic) Twp.), but allowed the land to revert before 23 December 1817. Finally, on 26 November 1814, John WEYRICK of Knox Co., Ohio purchsed the NE 1/4 of Section 35 (directly north of Perry (Leepsic) Twp.) and on 14 December 1814 he purchased the SW 1/4 of that Section (directly north of and adjacent to Perry (Leepsic) Twp.). However, he assigned the NE 1/4 to William HUNTSMAN before 29 March 1820 and the SW 1/4 to Peter CRAMER before 20 January 1819.

Does anyone know if these Weirick men were brothers? I have a John Weirich / Weirick / Weyrich, who married Catherine Elizabeth Rupp. . They lived, at least for a time, in Wayne Co., OH. He had brothers with the same first names as those listed in the message below. Is this the same John Weirick who lived in Wayne Co. OH ? ? ? If anyone has information on these Weirick's, I would be interested in what you have. Since I am totally unfamiliar with that part of the country, I am looking for a good place to stay while I am there. Also, any hints on the libraries, court houses, genealogy societies, etc. would be helpful. Licking is pretty much getting information on people that I know about, but Richland is trying to break down a brick wall - or at least tumble a few bricks. So my Charlie doesn't show up at all. What to do? Nancy J Silkey
